I am not a great house keeper. I used to be and then at some point, I found I just didn’t want to do the work that it takes to keep the house the way I want it.
I love having a super clean and tidy house. I do not like doing what it takes to have a clean and tidy house though. So, while we do not live in squaller, we’ve gotten comfortable with, uhm…. Dishes in the sink, and stuff out of place. I admit to plenty of dust bunnies under the couch and the floors could use sweeping.
Having the house on the market is good in that we have to clean up the place for showings. People tend to peek during the weekends, so Ken and I are pretty good at running around on Friday and Saturday mornings, sprucing up the joint. Together, we can get this place sparkling in no time.
As far as I know we don’t have a house showing coming up, but we are hosting a show of a different kind this Friday. A house concert. That means we need to get the house in a different type of order. We’ll move furniture around, set up some folding chairs and open the house up.
If you are reading this and are in the neighbourhood, here are the details.

I promise the house will be ready. I hope I am!
