I have been wracking my brain about what to do this weekend at Push Hands camp! Oh, not about the topic or the curriculum or the drills we will work on. I figure that will unfold just how it needs to.
I’m concerned with the talent show! What to do? What to do?
The talent show is one of the best parts of camp. We get to share sides of ourselves that are not always obvious when we touch in!
For example, Sue and Art tell stories, Kim has us trek up the hill to her studio and we admire her paintings, Pat played the didgeridoo once and accompanied Ken on guitar. Michelle and Sheila team up each year. I will never forget the time Sheila kept the beat while Michelle rapped the jabberwocky! Dorian has shared poems, Sue showed us a slide show from her trip to India, and Nancy played a song on a painted saw.
The talent show is pure fun. There is no pressure to participate, but most of us do.
So, as the weekend approaches, and we are all getting ready by either packing our training shoes, mowing the lawn on the training field, catching a flight, or warming up our legs — the real prep for me is in thinking about what in the world will I do at the talent show this year?
Perhaps I will pass my turn on to Moser! He is sure to gets lots of oohs and ahhs!
As cute as he is, let’s face it; a collaborate effort between you and little Moser would be far more fetching!
There will very little “fetching” involved. He tends to lie down and chew.
Maybe it’s time for “you-know-what”!
Not going to happen Laura!
