We had a long list of reasons why the Sunshine Coast was for us.

The coast has extremely beautiful views that we got used to on Bowen of mountain, trees, and ocean. The weather is good — comparably to the rest of Canada. We can afford it. There are things to do and see and places to go. We found a great house. It is still close to Vancouver and Bowen Island. The ferry in 24 km from the house and is only a 40 minutes ride to Horseshoe Bay.

So close to the familiar and yet, today as I plan to travel back to Bowen Island. I have to say it feels really far away. I feel like I am embarking on a huge journey.

I’m going back to Bowen to dog sit Moser. Marian is doing one of her world travel, rock star things.

I thought it would be nice to go there instead of Moser coming here. I want to catch up with friends. I also think for some strange reason that it will be easier to go to “town” (Vancouver) from Bowen Island than it is from the coast.

I’m not sure I’ll go, but it would be nice to get a few things for the house that the coast doesn’t have. I could order stuff from the internet, but I’ve never done that. FYI – I used an ATM machine yesterday for the first or second time ever.

I know…anyway.

I’m packing a bag to be away for a few days and I feel like I’m packing to go to the moon for a year.

It becomes quite obvious on these occasions that I am such a homebody.
