fairwarning

“Chiba Kazuo has died. As an Aikido 8th Dan he was a true titan of Bushido. He was not a hobbyist nor a poser. He walked the earth with a warrior’s heart. Ring the bells and let the dead know he is coming, lest they get in his way. He has harmonized now.”

I never met Chiba Kazuo, but I do know and admire Kevin Wallbridge, who wrote these words letting us know of the masters death.

The tribute touched me.

I like the idea of ringing a bell at moments of enlightenment, celebration, and eulogy.

I’m thinking I’d like to take up this practice of bell ringing.  And, if I find I don’t do it in celebration of life, perhaps I can at least give fair warning at death.

Salute.
