chocolateandquilts

I was thinking, if people sent me chocolate, I’m sure I would feel better!

I only had nine hours of sleep last night, so progress is being made. The big challenge with that is, nine hours means I’m up at 4:30 a.m. I need to figure out a way to stay awake longer in the evening.  Going to bed at 8:00 p.m. just makes me feel like an old lady.

So, this morning early, I crept down to the new sewing room and sorted fabric. Quilt making soothes me. It didn’t take very long for several pieces of fabric to jump out at me and a particular design came in mind, at almost the same time. Cutting this fabric up and sewing it back together will give me time to remember.

Bill used to say his favourite colour was plaid. He was a smart ass that way. I’m not making a plaid quilt in his name though. I already made a cool plaid one, and admit it is one of my absolute favourites. No, this quilt will be made of browns, dark greens and cream coloured scraps.

I’m hoping to get the top put together before the next Roughrider gathering in Bellingham, at the end of March. If I do I could hand it off to Jo Baner for quilting. Unless I change my mind, and decide to hand quilt this one.

I made a quilt for Kim last Christmas. I’ll probably make another one for her later.

The sun is finally up now, so I’m going to walk. It isn’t raining and I haven’t been out for a few days. Plus it is reason enough to get out of the house so early in the morning as I’m banging around and I’m sure I am bothering Ken’s sleep.

Tonight, my goal is to stay awake long enough that I can wake up at a time that I don’t have to wait three hours before the sun comes up.

Wish me luck and send me chocolate!

Doing what your body advises is, in my opinion, the only way to go.
I not only wish you luck, but you ARE lucky to have this thing called “quilting” as a way to express yourself.

And not to be flippant, but: Dark or milk chocolate?

    Love, Laura
