June 10, 1935. One drunk reached out to another and together they stayed sober. Bill W. and Dr. Bob started a world wide phenomenon called Alcoholics Anonymous.
June 10, 1986, I went to my first tai chi class. Another phenomenon entered my life.
Funny, I had to look up the spelling of the word phenomenon. And well, there’s that…how do you look it up if you can’t spell it thing. So I went to the thesaurus and looked up the word magic. There it was, phenomenon. As well as; sensation, wonder, prodigy, miracle, rarity, humdinger, stunner, doozy, rip-snorter.
I don’t agree with a lot of the practices in the AA program. I don’t have to. I’ve learned what I think is not as important as what I do.
Actions count in a program of recovery.
AA laid out the plan of action for me. Tai Chi taught me how to follow through with it.
Both are rip-snorting humdingers for me.
Salute!
You are one rare doozy!
