This morning I was in the backyard for practice. Not the training field; I was in the yard behind the house. I stood on a soggy bed of fallen leaves, listened to the creek water run, felt a gentle wind, and I could see the morning moon shine through the trees.
It was nice. Really nice.
For the last few Novembers I was a half assed participant in the NaNoWriMo project. I say half assed, because my goal was never to actually write a novel, but I would spend the month of November writing more than usual. I tried to write at least 1,000 words each day in the spirit of the project and practice.
This month, I see some of my friends are joining a 30 day gratitude project.
I think this will be one of my new November projects — half assed of course, because I won’t formally sign up, and I may or may not share my findings with anyone.
But, for the rest of November, I will mindfully name something I am grateful for each day.
It won’t be hard.
